Hello, I’m Back

Hello, I'm Back

Hi. Welcome to the new(ish) home of Hello I’m Flawed.

After a long nap, the time has come to rise like a glorious phoenix from the ashes of the interwebs.

Over the last couple weeks, as I revisited old posts, Joan Didion’s words echoed in my mind:

“I think we are well-advised to keep on nodding terms with the people we used to be, whether we find them attractive company or not.”

It can be a humbling, uncomfortable exercise to confront remnants of your former self, no matter how much time has passed. More than once, as I read my own words, I cringed and thought, “WHO WROTE THIS?!” Still, it was nice to discover how I’ve changed. That — the vulnerable place in which we grow — is what this space is ultimately about.

To that end, we’ve made a few changes to the navigation bar, to better reflect what you’ll find here in the days ahead:

CULTURE is a place for books, movies, and popular culture. (But mostly books. Lots of books.) There will also be… a book club! More on that soon.

WORK is dedicated to all things career, including stories, tips, queries, and conversations with all sorts of people about what they do and how they got there.

LIFE covers relationships, friendships, advice, and matters of the heart and home.

WELLNESS is devoted to beauty, fitness, style, and the wide world of self-discovery.

Last but not least, ETC. is the home of anything and everything else, like weird facts and GIFs of sloths with cheeseburgers.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be making a few more updates and working out any little quirks. (Websites be cray.) In the meantime, thank you for stopping by! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back.

  • Maritsa,

YES. Yours is one of my favorite corners of the internet. Thank you for your humor, candor, wisdom, and style — so excited for this news and what’s to come!

  • this reminds me of where you (and i) are in life right now:

“It’s interesting how we often can’t see the ways in which we are being strong — like, you can’t be aware of what you’re doing that’s tough and brave at the time that you’re doing it because if you knew that it was brave, then you’d be scared.” -Lena Dunham

in moments of doubt, (and there are many, for everybody) remember, be you. you are enough, and you are not too much.

this is hands down my new favourite blog… so looking forward to what’s to come. xx Morgan

    • Thank you, Morgan. That Lena quote is very wise, and very true. I very much appreciate your words. Lots of love. xx

  • I feel like I have been waiting for this day for so long! I am so happy I stumbled back to Hello I’m Flawed to find out you’re back!

AND A BOOK CLUB?! (Book recommendations is precisely why I came back to the site). Can’t wait to learn more!

  • One of my favorite voices! You’re back 🙂
